Ethan Townsend began his glass making career in his junior year of high school at Punahou Academy in Hawaii. He is currently realizing his BFA in the Glass Program at Rochester Institute of Technology. He is set to graduate in 2020.
Ethan has shown his work in New York and Hawaii. In 2016, Ethan was invited to show his blown work at “Arts at Mark’s Garage” in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 2017, he was part of a three-person student exhibition at “Webb Auditorium” at Rochester Institute of Technology, in Rochester, New York. In the spring of 2018, he was part of a group performance at “Imagine RIT” at RIT, in Rochester, NY.
Ethan Townsend is a founder of a successful glass company and is currently the treasurer for the RIT Glass Guild. He is dedicated to exploring the ephemeral qualities that glass embodies, and is looking forwards to showing at the “Memorial Art Gallery’s” Fine Craft Show in October 2018, in Rochester, NY.
